Legislative Committees and Accomplishments

Tom Serves On:
"The House Agriculture Policy Committee"
As a freshmen Tom handled and passed the 2005 Omnibus Ag Bill
Tom  also drafted, handled and Passed unanimously HB1349
which established "The Family Farms Act."

"Local Government Committee"
Tom worked on key issues that effected people in the urban areas as well as in the rural areas. He helped educate the mostly urban committee members on how our rural issues differ from urban issues.

"Conservation and Natural Resources Committee"
This committee deals with Department of Conservation Issues, such as Wildlife issues, stream bank stabilization, and gravel mining. Tom was appointed to this committee in February 2006. After much debate and negotiations he passed the Gravel Bill. It was debated briefly on the house floor and set aside.

"Agriculture & Conservation & Natural Resource Appropriations Committee"
Determines how much and where money should be spent in the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Natural Resources.
